Day 4 demo ended with family room and dinning room floors being pulled up. The small kitchen pantry got removed as well. We are able to start to see our staircase from the family room for the first time.
Living through a reno story and thoughts.:
Planning your days at home is no longer possible during renovations. It’s best to just get out and make all day plans unless you are ok with crews being all over your house in the most unexpected places, breathing in dust and blowing out your eardrums.
During a rennovation you will find yourself doing almost anything to get out of the house. We discovered this today. After KI trips, pool days, etc we still needed to stay out of the house. To burn more time, I actually drove to a Mike’s Car wash and made vacuuming out my car a time killing activity, while the kids collected loose change from the parking lot and bought slushies.
Today also, for the first time, going to Costco for a $4.00 lunch felt luxurious compared to preparing lunch in my hoarded basement using an old stationary tub as a sink.
Mouse update:
The mouse is still in the lead. No success yet. Traps are still empty! I haven’t seen anymore mice creeping around so maybe Keith’s sledgehammer scared them away!
